1. Setting, Style of Acting, Props, Lighting
2. A shot is any continuous piece of uninterupted filming.
3. An edit is classified as any break in the film where one shot ends and the next shot begins. The four most common types of edit are:
- Cuts
- Dissolves
- Fades
- Wipes
4. Lighting can be used to establish a mood where there would be little lighting to show a spooky dark character where a hero might need light to show he/she is the beacon of hope. Another would show an over-exposure of light where it would be a very hot and desert like place.
5. Back lighting refers to a light coming from the back of a character towards the character an then the camera also.
6.
Framing is the art of deciding what images the audience will see within the frame of the cinema screen and how those images are arranged within each shot.
7. The rule of thirds is an important framing technique because studies have shown that people's eyes usually go to one of the intersection points rather than the centre of an image.
8. 2 Reasons that a cinematographer may choose to overexpose a shot might be that it is hot and a desert type of setting. Another might be that a character is dizzy and is about to pass out therefore it might go to white as the character blacks out.
9. An effect that can be achieved when underexposing a shot is by having it slow motion.
10. A low angle might suggest the character is very powerful and a strong character however a high angle shot might suggest that the character is weak and small.
11. Canted refers to a shot that moves with the character say if a character is running than the camera will be moving with the character.
